For many years, advertisings have been displayed on television, buses, in magazines, and virtually everywhere, you go. One theory I used to inform what I believe is right and wrong in the advertisement industry is the conflict theory. According to Richard Schaeffer, the confl ict theory says that social behavior is described in terms of tension mingled with different competing groups (Schaeffer 15). The two competing groups in my essay are women and the advertisement industry. The advertisement industry believes that it is okay and moral to portray women as objects sooner than as subjects (Kilbourne). They depict them as dainty, passive and vulnerable and just about women really have no say in how they are being portrayed since it is their occupation (Kilbourne). The advertising caller is a total institution in that it influences every issue a women employer does under just a single berth (Schaeffer 62). They regulate everything from a womans body propose to the elan they act in public. They make women seem slight important, as if they are just sex objects that tend to men, save they keep abreast the privileges of some groups, like men.
